Xiaomi has been on a roll here, in India, with its recent success of Redmi 1S and the Redmi Note. Both smartphones have been successful in capturing their respective markets in their respective categories.

The positive thing about Xiaomi is that they have been releasing Android OS based smartphones at affordable prices with high-end hardware. This has resulted in Xiaomi taking the leading position in China, dethroning #Apple & #Samsung. Xiaomi has been always known as the poor man’s Apple.

We today bring you news about the impending release of the Xiaomi Redmi 2S. Recently, the Xiaomi Redmi 2S smartphone was spotted at TENAA and has since received certification in China. Also, the Xiaomi Redmi 2S smartphone scores were spotted on AnTuTu Benchmark.

Below are the leaked specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi 2S.

As you can see from the above specifications, most of the specifications are just average and even in some cases, lower. For example, the processor has been downgraded to a 1.2 GHz 64-bit from a 1.7 GHz one. Also, the Xiaomi Redmi 2S is a single SIM smartphone and the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is a dual SIM smartphone.

So, we do have some positives and some negatives with these specifications, but on the whole, the Xiaomi Redmi 2S is an average smart phone.

Conclusion

Our recommendation would be that our readers look for something else, unless this smartphone is priced below Rs. 4,000/- in India. If it is going to be priced at the same price of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S, then this would be a smartphone that can be given a miss for others in the market.
